He wrote under several different names. He real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel and he used several pen names, including: Theo LeSieg (Geisel spelled backwards), Rossetta Stone, Theophrastus Seuss, and Dr. Seuss.
Dr. Seuss got alot of his character idea from the people and objects he saw around him. Once on a cruise with his wife the smoke stacks gave him an idea for a character.

ReplyDeleteI know his birthday is celebrated in March all around the country. Kids LOVE his books, and they are a great starting point for reading.
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss also made political cartoons to help teach adults about the problems we faced before and during World War 2!
